Adopt-An-Angel is very dear to Jena's heart.  She is the co-developer and the program coordinator since 1990.  The mission is to ensure that every child (angel) in our community wakes up on Christmas morning with a present.

Throughout the year, we prepare for the holiday season and the delivery of over 5,000 presents to more than 1,200 bright-eyed smiling faces.

Angels are defined as children 14 years and under from economically depressed families whose names have been validated by the Texas Department of Human Services and other certified sources.

Angel profiles are hung on a tree in Elf Central.  The profile includes a child's first name, age, male/female, clothing sizes, favorite color, needs and wants.  An 'adopter' (you) selects an Angel (or more) and fulfills the wish list (maximum of three presents) and returns the present(s) wrapped and identified to Elf Central.  For those Angels not adopted by the time Elf Central closes, the committee shops and wraps the gifts for these children.

Elf Central is staffed with community organization, business and individual volunteers.  If you would like to volunteer, please contact Jena.  Your level of participation is limitless.  This program has a place and task for everyone.

Financial contributions and donations of new toys and clothing are always welcome.  All donations received will be used to provide presents for Angels that did not get adopted by Elf Central closure.  All efforts involved in this program are given from the kindness of someone's heart.  All gifts are donated, and all time is 100% volunteer.

Most of us have faced rough times in our lives.  Many may have experienced the approach of Christmas and the fear of not being able to fulfill the needs, let along the wants of our child(ren).  If you haven't, then you've been blessed.  Remember that children don't understand why Santa visited the kids next door and missed their house.
